World Champions is the first part of a choreographic project inspired by the martial arts imagery.
Based on the frenetic music by the famous pianist Hiromi, Grégoire Manhes & Eloïse Grastilleur imagine a muscular and explosive duet with a hybrid gesture, between dance and martial arts. Oscillating between
the phantasmagoric video game's physicality, the greatest kung-fu movies' martial fervor or the absurd intensity of some sportive training, this short creation is sweating references and makes fun of them by twisting it.
Performance created with lthe financial support of the Département de l'Ain for "Faites vos jeux !", cultural and sportive programmation for the summer 2024.
The project is supported by the Culture Ministry and the DRAC Auvergne Rhône-Alpes for the "Cultural Summer" & "Culturals Holidays" events.
